ATI Tray Tools by Ray Adams?

Because even he's got the same problem (Crashes after a minute or less with ATT running)

... What version do you have?

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING HERE!!!

    LOL

Yeah, I might just do that, and make it more detailed, but not just now, it SHOULD be understandable and "Noob-friendly".

Oh, I forgot to mention, there's a new version of DirectX, you can see the link in this post for the download (the first one in the top of the list)

I also updated the First post, it's now version 1.93 (final) lol....

*Added more detail to the "How to make and post a dxdiag" since many haven't grasped the usefulness of posting it and I brought the DirectX download link upwards and some minor tweaking.

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING HERE!!!

Thank you, Caboose, for creating this thread.  It's a shame when the most helpful troubleshooting guide isn't provided directly by the game publisher or developer.

I apologize for creating a thread addressing my particular problem, earlier.  I had only skimmed your thread and tried only a couple of the steps.  My computer would freeze at the white screen at the very first playable section, after "The Heretic" scene.  Following your advice, I turned off the sound and the game didn't freeze.  I found my Sound Device by typing DxDiag in the Run command, per your instructions.  The Realtek website you listed had a Vista version of their driver.  After installing that, I am now able to play Halo 2!!!

    You helped this noob.  :)

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING HERE!!!

new directx :) ..... oh its a sdk not runtime.

in the release notes it seems to add a load of tools and features for the builder/tweeker however nothing really for the everyday end user.

At nearly half a gig in size im not sure it's worth it for "you guys" , the june runtime should be the one to use, around 20mb depending how much needs updating.

ps,,the dark blue titles are hard to read .

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING HERE!!!

    Updated.

*Added a new link to the System Requirements Lab Test, so if you're uncertain about whether you can run Halo 2 then just select Halo 2 from the list and run the test to be amazed! ... Or... Not :/ ...
Oh, I also decided to save some space and make the links a bit tighter together or something.... Hell, who am I kidding - I was bored Time [O]Snail [sn]

I also added a tip on using ATI's Catalyst AI, simply saying that you should turn it off as it might cause graphical glitches (I tested it and it did cause some glitches)

Re: READ THIS BEFORE POSTING HERE!!!

Yeah I know and I'll stop once this has been made a sticky post... And on top of that, I'll even delete all those useless posts that are cramming up space here.

EDIT* Well I deleted what I could but for some reason on most posts I got an "Access Denied" - error, stating that you can't delete a post with replies... WTH??

... Anyway, if it'll make you happy I'll stop bumping this thread and just let it drown under all the cries of help in this forum...

To the end of this line of my "Bumping riot" I'd like to quote Gandhi:
