Purchase before even trying a demo?

Sorry MS, I will not think about making a purchase until I can try it so how about posting a demo?

    Thanks

Now that you mention it, is there like a safe demo file that we can download?

this is one area I have to fully agree. I looked up on the halo 2 website for a demo, even just one level would have been good. But nothing. A demo for me is the make or break tie-breaker. That makes my decision on whether I buy it or not. I recently downloaded a DX10 demo of Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions and even though I have it on the 360, I'm probably buying it on PC when it comes out. Why? cuz it looks so awesome on vista, and it's a fun game. So why can't we have a demo? who knows? This is where bungie and MS SUCK!

Do you guys seriously expect a demo after the game has been out for a week now? I dont think so.

well, it wouldn't make sense for me anyway, having just bought it. But demos are nice to have before the game comes out. Whatever.

Please don't confuse a BETA with a demo.

Demo's have always been around as a way to see if you like something enough to buy it and yes, I expect to see one at some point. I am used to seeing demo's at launch time, but that's other companies, not MS. For all I know, this game could really SUCK. I am not willing to risk 45-50 bucks taking, of all companies, Microsoft's word for it. That's just stupid... unless you have money to piss away, in which case send me some. ;)

This sort of policy will create the demand needed for someone to copy the media, crack the activiation (if any) and post it in a file sharing program, just what MS wants I'm sure...

They shut you down... Boom. I'm sure they have anti-pirating software built in. Most software and media do now. Plus, we are talking about microsoft. But I just "wasted" 50 bucks on halo 2, and you know what. I was scared about buying it cuz of the negative talk. BUT, it is awesome. So do yourself a favor and buy it. You'll be glad you did.

So far, i haven't been able to run the game for more then 5mins before it crashes each time and there is no hint to a reason for it, cause this is the only game that crashes, the others are perfect, though a tad slow to close, which is no biggy.

How Ironic, a game designed for Vista doesn't work on it, while games developed for XP and not vista work fine on it, even Master of ORion 2 works great on vista. lol

Re: Purchase before even trying a demo?

If they released an xp demo, then people would enjoy it and want the full game and then they'd be more inclined to upgrade to vista for it. it makes good sense.

However it might open up some way to play the full h2v on xp if u could crack the demo. Also if people were un-impressed witht he demo for gfx or summit, then it could have a negative impact on the game and vista sales.

Actually if you get your hands on a "friends" copy of the disc the game will allow you to play the whole first level before it forces you to enter a CD Key. So try borrowing a "Friends" disc.

Re: Purchase before even trying a demo?

Why should they release a demo when it's just the same game as Halo 2 Xbox? the closest thing to a demo you got for Halo 2 Xbox was a video or two.
