Hello i was wondering if anyone can answer me to some questions about the multiplayer of halo 2. i perchased Halo 2-3 months ago and i still can't play online, do i need to be signed in Games for Windows LIVE? cause when i created an account and tried to enter the live an error occured about the region where i'm playing(Greece, and i think it's not supported here now).is it only the region why i can't play live or is it the OS (win 7)?!?! Thanks

Can someone help me out? I run Halo 2 on my Laptop with Windows 7 OS. It actually works beautifully. The only problem I have is that my laptop constantly restarts on me. I've tried updating the drivers, uninstalling, then reinstalling Halo 2, but nothing seems to keep the computer from restarting while I'm playing Halo 2. That's the ONLY time it restarts. Help plz?

Is the online version still being supported? The service has been unavailable for days.

Halo 2 Xbox brought to Halo 2 Vista

So far I have four servers up playing Halo 2 Xbox playlists (matchmaking)

H2X Team HxC (team hardcore playlist)
H2X TeamSniping (team sniping playlist)
H2X Team SWAT (team swat playlist)
H2X Team Slayer (team slayer playlist)

They are pretty damn close to the halo 2 xbox playlists
so join up and enjoy max of 8 people in each server just like matchmaking.

So go out and get the game (20 dollars at best buy) either buy a wireless adapter to play with your wireless controller on the pc or get a wired one (usb) and have fun on the new "Xbox LIVE" for halo 2.

post any changes you think should be made.

Hi,
i'm currently running xp pro on a system thats more than capable of running this game, however i am not using vista at this time (tried it, thought it sucked and went back to xp) and have not bitten the bullet to upgrade to windows 7 yet.
how can i coerce the game to run under xp without any issues (more or less) until i can make the jump to win 7??
my son loves the original halo and had been bugging me to pick up this version. i did and now will hopefully work out the bugs to make it compatible with what i have at this time..

Halo 2 Vista Stutter Problem (Help Please!)

I bought this game yesturday

Installed, restarted, started up and tried to play.

While I started up the menu lagged. During gameplay the mouse movement was very unsmooth, while trying to walk it was very laggy.

My computer should have no problem running this and I have all the newest drivers

I've even tried to lower the graphics and the vsync sollution

Specs: Intel Q8200 2.33GHz, ATI HD 4850 512MB, 6GB DDR2, Vista Home Premium 64bit.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

so i bought the game a few years back, installed vista, installed halo 2... did everything to maximize performance... ran like crap... (my graphics card blows) so anyway... i recently downloaded a version with patches and cracks; works beautifully, and i still get to use xp.... SO, should i try and use my subscription and log into live?
and one more thing... i usually install a fresh copy of xp every few months... how does this affect registration (will it be fine as long as no one else logs in under my registration?)

I just recently picked this up again, using vista ultimate 32b, install went fine(only game no map editor or dedicated server) and figured i'd hop into a multiplayer game, no games found, anybody playing this anymore?

actually I been hacked, there is a guy who is using my gamertag and name on servers and when you look at the profile to report him it appears my gamertag.
Please make this game more safe. At the moment anybody knows the real gamertag of that guy.

Does anyone know how CD Key's are going to work? I really hope you don't need multiple copies of the game to play at least over LAN. I'd just like to know how that's gonna work before I buy four copies, or get one and need to un-install it because I used the same CD Key on two computers.

HI everyone, y search a lot to find a forum or a contact to leave my petition, o my question. Please forgive my writing, Im from Argentina and Its been a while since i write something in english. First of all, im a great fan of Halo saga, allways search for new videos an information of the new games, Hoping that microsoft will remember de PC users. I have a lots of friends, that feel de same as me. I dont pretend that the new games where full playable in pc, but its been 2 an half years since halo 3 was realese. Even so, with the ending of HAlo 2, everyone wants to know(and play) whats happens next.

I think thats is something about marketing, you can thing.."well want to play halo buy an xbox 360"..but here its expensive, dont forget the users of latin america (and others countrys) that cant buy a console an a PC.

I apologize for the post, but i needed to do it.

Insight question

Hi all,
I'm playing the campain game and I got to the place I think is the temple. However, I'm having fun trying to beat this level. After fight flying robots and machines with a launcher, I finally landed. Now I have to fight my way throught tons and tons of honor guards, and there is some round device in the middle of the room that shots huge laser or plasma beams. I keep dying in this room because once I clear the room of guards, they suddenly appear on both sides of me when I launch and attack on the round object. So I'm thinking these guys are endlessly being generated. So my question is how does one get pass the guards. I've tried running but that only causes me to run into one of their swords. Thanks for any insights.

Is there split screen multiplayer with the vista version like gamespot says?

I'm considering purchasing this game due to the fact that this website: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halo2/tech_info.html says that there is 4 player spit screen available offline. I don't play online and am not interesting in buying this if there is no split screen. so it gamespot wrong like some people are saying or not?

I have done everything...I've read from the post here,Games For Windows Live & in Gamefaqs Forums,and everything that I can think of to try and fix this issue,and nothing works...I still get the "live gaming on windows failed to initialize" error everytime I try to run Halo 2....The game worked just fine on my last Windows 7 laptop,that I returned for this one.Only difference in the OS is that the last one was 32bit and this new one is 64bit.... I don't get it,Gears of War gave me no issues,connects to LIVE!,and plays just fine.....

ok i installed halo 2 for windows vista but i installed the dedicated server first and i opened it up and installed halo 2 then i go to play it it says cane play with dediserver open try reinstalling the game so i reinstall them both and the same problem keeps popping up and i reinstall just game no help cant run with service or dedicated server uup dedicated serice it means i think

I just upgraded from XP to 7 and bought Halo 2. I find tht the key mapping doesn't work and no solution found by searching. Has this been fixed? I've been playing FPS since invented and am not going to change my preferences. Any input or solutions?
