• Re: Caboose - Addition to the sticky re: tech issues?

Something related to GFWL is buried somewhere in the Vista profile that MS can't find yet. I spent hours with Gilgamesh trying different things (reinstall H2V, reset LIVE, edit the registry, reset machine id for LIVE, and so on...), in the end all it took was a new Vista profile. I know recreating a profile can be a pain, especially since ...

I was getting that same thing, an update is available and I couldn't download it. After launching Halo 2 as an admin it failed initially to download the update, but then I was messing around in my LIVE profile area and it downloaded and worked fine. Lucky timing? Fluke? No idea, ...

try running Halo2 as an admin. If it doesn't update immediately try again when going through your LIVE settings. Mine didn't update at first automatically until I went in to the LIVE settings/profile area and it prompted me again to update, then it worked. In case you missed it, I ran Halo2 as an admin.

  • Re: Can't Connect To Live Please Help

If that method of update doesn't work immediately, play around under the LIVE account area and I think you can force an update from ...

once you plug directly in to your modem, it is a good idea to unlpug the power from your modem and wait 10 seconds before plugging it back in. This will enable you to get an IP, try IE first before loading Halo 2 to ensure it is working.
